William ‘Bill’ Huntington – President/co-founder
“I believe that I had the best two jobs in the Air Force, Vehicle Operations and Public Affairs. Each of them gave me the chance to meet, and get to know, the many fine people that I served with across the Wing. Those relationships have inspired me to start The 442d Project.”
Bill joined the U.S. Air Force right after graduating from High School and served four years of Active Duty; first in Michigan and then in Alaska.
While attending college, Bill again stepped into Air Force life by joining the then-442d Military Airlift Wing at Richards-Gebaur AFB, Mo. Not long after, the 442d’s mission changed from airlift to fighters upon acquiring the venerable A-10 Thunderbolt II.
In 1994, with the Wing’s reassignment to its “original” home at the now-Whiteman AFB, Bill retrained into Air Force Public Affairs and is a graduate of the Defense Information School with extensive training in Journalism, Photography, Newspaper Editing, along with Media, Government and Community Relations.
A recipient of awards at the Major Command, Air Force and Department of Defense levels, Bill was also the driving force behind, “The 442nd – a Heritage Series.” The three-part retrospective of the 442d from its very beginnings during World War II to contemporary global operations earned the prestigious Thomas Jefferson Award in 2002. Bill states that meeting the 442d Veterans and stepping on the very same airfields the unit had operated from throughout its 80-year history was truly a high point of his career!
Upon retiring from the Air Force Reserve, Bill continued an Air Force Civil Service career by transferring to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, and then retiring from there in 2020 after having been associated with the U.S. Air Force for more than fifty years.

Christopher White – Director
Chris White is an entrepreneur, educator, and Air Force veteran committed to honoring military heritage and empowering the next generation of leaders. He served six years in the U.S. Air Force Reserve with the 931st Air Refueling Wing as a hydraulic specialist, deploying to Qatar and Turkey in support of global KC-135 operations. His deep respect for the men and women of the armed forces was shaped by years spent connected to the 442nd, where he built lasting friendships and developed a genuine appreciation for the unit’s history and impact.
Beyond his military service, Chris has built a career centered on growth, community, and service. He expanded and ultimately sold Dog Obedience Group, a long-standing Kansas City training company, and went on to launch Tailored Trainers and The Dreamer Project—educational platforms designed to help individuals and families think creatively, develop confidence, and pursue meaningful personal and professional goals.
Chris is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and is recognized for his work in curriculum development, leadership training, and strategic business growth. His mission-driven approach blends entrepreneurial innovation with a sincere commitment to helping others reach their potential.
As a board member for the 442nd Project, Chris brings operational experience, a heart for service, and a longstanding connection to those who have worn the uniform—working to ensure the history and legacy of the 442nd Fighter Wing is preserved and shared for generations to come.
